The Head and The Heart - The Head and The Heart
Lovely name to begin with, the melodies made are even more wonderful. Very laid back and easy listening vibe, with the folk-country sounds, harmonizing vocals, it's like food for the soul. I cant really put down this album without listening to the whole thing. Deep yet modest lyrics would unwind you off your worries. Heart throbbing lyrics such as "Lord have mercy on my rough and rowdy ways," a line from 'Down in the valley' and songs about friends, relationships and affairs in "Rivers and Roads" paints hope and faith to the heart. Their songs kicks a lot of positive emotions and lifts you up high in the clouds. This would be the band that would be playing in your coffee shop and you would sit down, listen, and appreciate. This band certainly has depth and at the same time it portrays to be on the surface. If you like Mumford and Sons or Seabear, like me, you'd probably love The Head and The Heart.

Villagers - Becoming a Jackal
With a bold subtitle for an album, this band has come with good sounds. Soulful, thick, deep acoustics. The frontman reminds me of Alex Turner from The Last Shadow Puppets, yet he sounds a lot more mellow than Alex is. Doesn't make it less good, just another mood to settle for. The guitar strumming does gives the mood of listening to Joshua Radin, but its more on a darker setting. Its interesting how he sings about the dark, lines of confessions, sounds of the soul, poetry of existence. The title speaks for itself. In my opinion, its a reflection to one's soul in the dark gloomy days. However, there's a few songs that does reflect the light. With a more catchy tune, "The Pact (I'll Be Your Fever)" does make you sway unconsciously. This band sounds similar to Little Joy, Slow Club, Jack Johnson, Joshua Radin.

Eddie Vedder - Ukelele Songs
Been following him since Into The Wild. One of my favorite Magnificent vocals, depth history as a singer/songwriter and now coming up with songs with ukelele, what more can you ask for. No doubt you can just ease your head down and let him take you away. In this album, It does come up strong at first, but the sound of his deep voice and the swift strumming of the ukelele would just sweep you off your feet.

Bon Iver - Bon Iver
Seen them everywhere now, they're still real fantastic! Bon Iver offers a different tune to ease up upon. In some of his songs, he does sound a bit like Sting to me, but definitely a different kind of genre. Folk-acoustics with synchronize singing and harmonizing gives a big kick. Songs that you can breathe with, and take you off to a place, where there's blue skies and green trees and grass. Silence that means so much. Sounds of melancholy, self-reflect and sincerity. Hypnotic melodies would chant you to keep listening to this master piece.

Campfire OK - Strange Like We Are
Bryan John Appleby, one of the members of this band brought me here with his own song. Discovering this band and watching them play together is amazing. Each of them offers something magnificent and when they come together, its breath-taking. Campfire OK offers more soothing and exciting folk sounds. Goes smoothly with splitscreens and roadtrips, the powerful vocals, lovely melodies by the keys and the brass, gives out a thick and soulful symphony. They do sound a lot like Arcade Fire and Mumford and Sons. There's also similar sounds to The Black Atlantic and Cloud Cult.

"... Ron, you must lose your inclination for monotonous security and adopt a helter-skelter style of life that will at first appear to you to be crazy. But when you become accustomed to such life you will see its full meaning and its incredible beauty." - Chris McCandless, Letter to Franz, Anza-Borrego, Into The Wild
If i knew all the words, i would write myself out here. Stay where the light is, may your journey be the best for you, go to the edge of the earth, pursue the box of Pandora. However, please don't forget me as you have left your thumbprint in me
